To celebrate the 25th anniversary of Eric’s Camp Fund, a new program has been created that will mean that even more families from the Kansas City area will be touched by Eric’s dream of making life a little brighter for these great kids. Modeled after a program developed by the Hole in the Wall Gang Camp – and currently in operation in New York, Philadelphia, Boston and Hartford – Good Cheer will take lots of great projects, games, and special events TO the kids in the hospital much like the great activities they would experience if they were actually at camp. But this fun will go on year-round.
Volunteers will be armed with great activities and will visit the kids in their hospital rooms, in activities centers on their floor, or in clinics where they are receiving their outpatient treatments. Other events will be for parents, siblings and whole families. We are very fortunate to be working with Children’s Mercy, Kansas University Hospital and the Ronald McDonald House.
